TechRadium, a technology company based in Sugar Land, TX, which manufactures mass-notification systems for public-safety organizations, the military and utilities, is targeting the ultimate mass-notification system with a patent-infringement lawsuit.
The company filed suit against Twitter, claming that it invented the concept of mass notifications and highlighting U.S. Patents 7,130,389, 7,496,183 and 7,519,165, according to TechCrunch.
TechRadium said its IRIS (Immediate Response Information System) technology allows a group administrator, or message author, to originate a single message to be delivered simultaneously via multiple communication gateways to members of a group of message subscribers, who can receive the messages via voice message, text message or email, according to TechCrunch.
