Twitter Lures Yahoo! Senior Research Scientist

What better way to confirm joining Twitter than via tweet? That’s exactly how former Yahoo! senior research scientist Utkarsh Srivastava confirmed the story first reported by Louis Gray on his blog that he was joining the social-networking site.

Srivastava is best-known for his work on large-scale distributed systems such as Hadoop, and he was one of the original designers of Pig, an Apache project for analyzing large data sets, according to Gray.

Srivastava tweeted:

after a few productive years at Yahoo!, looking forward to my first day with @twitter!
