Twitter Mocks NSA Officers Who Spy on Secret Crushes with #NSAPickUpLines #NSALovePoems

Facebook stalking is child’s play in comparison to what is potentially the creepiest stalking method of all – NSA’s LOVEINT. LastFriday, news of NSA’s LOVEINT made headlines when the government’s surveillance agency admitted that there have been occasions when agents were caught misusing NSA data to spy on potential love interests or partners. Evidently, the misconduct isn’t rare enough – it received its own spycraft label of LOVEINT from the agency: INT refers to intelligence data collection and LOVE refers to the warm, fuzzy feelings we have for exploitative espionage.

The NSA claims its zero tolerance means that these agents were either punished or terminated, but that’s no match for a socially active Twitter. Over the weekend, the social network was buzzing with trending hashtags #NSAPickUpLines and #NSALovePoems that originated from parody Twitter account, @PRISM_NSA where satire’s aplenty.

How flattering. Up until now we all thought the government didn’t care about us, but in reality its spies are the only ones always listening. Unfortunately, the communication only goes one way.
