Televangelists. Anchormen. Kim Kardashian.

The list of stolen Twitter id’s is growing. The latest is Rep. Don Young who is the one and only U.S. representative from Alaska. Someone’s been Tweeting from @RepDonYoung since Monday.

The 40 updates have been mostly either nonsensical:

Apparently my new assistant is not named Google, or Twitter for that matter. What intersite do I go to for a sandwich?

or juvenile:

Anyone know how to evolve Slowpoke into Slowking in Pokemon Gold? I only can get him to become Slowbro. :-(

but kinda funny:

Me and @PeteHoekstra are leaving now to catch 17 Again at the local cineplex. His choice, not mine. ;-)

But his staff doesn’t like it one bit. After the jump, the email sent from his office…

Subject: Rep. Young Imposter on Twitter

As some of you may already be aware, the identity of Congressman Don Young has been stolen on the social networking site Twitter. Congressman Young is NOT currently using Twitter, and the messages posted seem to be the work of someone with a little too much free time on their hands. They are preposterous and outrageous and we are working with Twitter to get the culprit removed and the page taken down as soon as possible.

Any questions, please feel free to email or call me.

Thank you,

Meredith
