Mobile television services provider MobiTV has released some viewership data gleaned from its more than three million subscribers.

Some usage stats:

-9% of MobiTV users watch in the home or office.
-43% of parents use MobiTV to entertain the kids while in the car.
-67% of users have shown off the MobiTV service at a party or other social gathering.
-85% say they watch more TV at home since signing up for MobiTV.

Some demographic data:

-The typical MobiTV viewer is between the ages of 18 and 49, loves television, is highly mobile and is a trendsetter who drives tech purchases both at work and for friends.
-67% of subscribers are male.
-82% are between the ages of 18 and 39.

The company also conducts ongoing tests of its ad-based service. It found that not only do MobiTV viewers watch the commercials, but they also take action on contextually based ads. MobiTV’s recent advertising test program showed that its users engaged with ads they viewed through the service at a rate 300% higher than response industry standards.
