UIE, MobiTV Debut Connected Car Video

MobiTV has gotten together with rich application software provider UIEvolution (UIE) to develop a solution for streaming mobile video to cars.

The Connected Car solution by UIEvolution, featuring video technology from MobiTV, can be connected to standalone audio, video and GPS systems to deliver real-time content to the driver and keep back-seat passengers entertained with MobiTV’s live and on-demand video content. The system also accepts advertising, which cuts down on monthly subscription fees for consumers.

Connected Car uses UIE’s Blender, a managed service for content aggregation, management and on-boarding, which lets carmakers update, add and extend services and applications. MobiTV is providing the video encoding and delivery platform.

Unfortunately, the solution is only now being demo’d, so you can’t rush out and get it installed in time for that long Memorial Day weekend trek.
