The USOpen.org Web site has been redesigned, and will now feature a lead photo area, embedded videos of highlights and interviews, and real-time messaging to offer fans immediate updates and critical information such as weather delays, live programming updates, and player information.
On the wireless side, new mobile content will include a dedicated WAP site at usopen.org/mobile, along with options for nearly 50 different types of text alerts. Users will also have the opportunity to win a free trip to the 2009 U.S. Open via a mobile sweepstakes.
The site claims that USOpen.org generated an all-time record 30 million visits during last year’s US Open, which represents a 17% increase from the record visits in 2006. Things are trending upwards, basically.
