Verizon Wireless plans to show a series of College Bowl games through its V CAST Mobile TV service over the holiday season, MediaPost reports. Verizon will offer mobile TV subscribers “24 full-length games across its ESPN, CBS and Fox channels, starting with the Poinsettia Bowl on December 20 and ending with the GMAC Bowl on January 6.”
Verizon provides mobile TV to subscribers in more than 50 U.S. cities, including Las Vegas, Atlanta and New York, according to the article.
V CAST is still the only service that currently shows broadcast as well as streamed mobile television in the U.S., despite how common that is overseas in Asia and Europe, though only a handful of Verizon phones support the broadcast version.
