Verizon Wireless is sponsoring a new reality TV show called “On The Lot,” which allows aspiring filmmakers to show their work. In the show, everyone competes for the top prize: a $1 million development deal with Spielberg-backed DreamWorks.
How does Verizon figure into this? Viewers can vote with SMS text messages from their phones, similar to AT&T’s American Idol voting program.
Verizon Wireless subscribers will also be able to view behind-the-scenes clips and other footage from their cellphones. Advertisers can place brand name products front and center in the show.
