Verve Wireless, a mobile ad network, has signed the Chicago Sun-Times, The San Diego Union-Tribune, Time Out Chicago, Time Out New York and Metro International, MediaPost reports, bringing the company’s lineup to over 140 local publishers.
In an attempt to capitalize on the recent surge in popularity for mobile coupons (text or otherwise), Verve on Wednesday also debuted an app that lets publishers issue ads on mobile.
“Through the application, advertisers can send out mobile coupons based on various options including time of day, a user’s location, or a particular neighborhood, among others,” the report said.
