Vine Hits Top Spot for Free Apps in App Store

Vine, the video sharing startup acquired by Twitter and before its January launch, became the most downloaded free iOS app today, according to App Store listings.

The app allows users to record 6-second videos and share them to Twitter or Facebook. Since the end of March, users can also embed the videos on websites.
