Buy & Sell Stock In Online Videos On The Viral Video eXchange

Think you’ve got what it takes to predict up-and-coming viral videos before they blow up?  Prove it on the Viral Video eXchange, a new game that lets you buy and sell virtual stock in online videos.

Sam Gutelle of Tubefilter writes, “The game is a clear spiritual successor to the Hollywood Stock Exchange, where users trade stock in movies based on how they think those films will perform at the box office.”

When you sign up for the Viral Video eXchange you’ll get $500 in “Voins,” a fake currency that you use to trade.  You can buy shares in videos that you think will go viral or earn extra points for seeding new videos onto the exchange before anyone else gets to them.

The share price of videos on the Viral Video eXchange is dependent upon its daily views.  As daily views increase, so does the price of a video.  For this reason the payout will be at its highest if you catch a video early on, before it goes viral or when it is just starting its upward trend.

In addition to the whole game element, the Viral Video eXchange can be a great way to discover new videos.  You can check out trending videos, new videos, and take a look at the richest users and see which videos they’ve got stock in.

The interface has a bit to be desired—I’d like it to be easier to search for and watch videos directly through the platform, but overall I think it seems like a pretty neat idea.

Check it out at VVX.IO and let us know what you think.  Which videos would you like to invest in?
