Virgin Mobile is launching HYTV, the Homeless Youth TV Network, MocoNews reports. The new network will feature shows that hope to raise awareness of the more than one million homeless youth forced to live in the streets. Programming will include shows such as “Meal or No Meal,” “American Idle,” “My Street 16,” and “Project Runaway.”
The report said that Virgin Mobile is launching the new network to coincide with National Homeless Youth Awareness Month in November. “Viewers can go watch episodes at www.homelessyouthtv.com and sponsor their favorite program with a donation of $1,” with the proceedings heading toward Green Chimneys and StandUp For Kids charity partners. For its part, Virgin plans to match the first $10,000 in total donations, according to the article.
