These announcements are all starting to sound alike. Nonetheless, MediaPost reports that Virgin Mobile just launched Studio V, a mobile content community that lets customers share user-generated graphics and ringtones, as well as get phone credits with each download.
“Users can upload and edit photos and other graphics to make personalized wallpapers, and select from a catalog of audio tracks to create ringtones. Content creators will earn 10 cents for each item purchased, credited to their Virgin Mobile accounts. The user-generated wallpapers will cost $1.99, and ringtones will cost $2.50.”
That’s fine and all, but how many different mobile social networking initiatives can the market handle?
