Virginia is for lovers and, according to CNBC’s third-annual America’s Top States for Business study, Virginia is also for business.
Virginia swapped spots with last year’s winner, Texas, which came in second, followed by Colorado, Iowa and Utah.
CNBC said each state was scored using publicly available data on 40 different measures of competitiveness, and the points they received were separated into 10 categories: Cost of Doing Business; Workforce; Economy; Education; Quality of Life; Technology and Innovation; Transportation and Infrastructure; Business Friendliness; Cost of Living; and Access to Capital.
