Vodafone, China Mobile, Softbank Partner on Innovation

Vodafone has joined forces with China Mobile and Softbank on a mobile Web initiative aptly named Joint Innovation Lab. The operators’ initial plan for the venture is to develop a mobile widget platform that works across multiple carrier networks, operating systems and handset models and keeps customer data secure, Mobile Entertainment reports.

The trio has extended an invitation to other industry types who want to join in the development of new cross-platform mobile applications and services.
