Vodafone this morning announced that its UK consumers would have access to unlimited music downloads, direct to their phone, starting in November 2007, according to a report in The News Market.
Vodafone customers will have “unlimited access to over a million tracks from all the major record labels, as well as leading independents, on a range of new handsets for Christmas,” Omnifone, the company behind the MusicStation unlimited music download service, said on their Web site this morning.
The new service will end up competing with Nokia’s music store launch in Europe later this year. This is just the latest salvo in an all-out-war to grab market share in over-the-air music downloads.
