Warning For App Store Developers, App Store Corruptions Causing Crashes

A number of iOS app updates that have occurred over the past three days have been corrupt, causing the App Store to crash, rather than an app to update.

Developer Marco Arment, the creator of Instapaper, reported the issue on his blog: “Last night, within minutes of Apple approving the Instapaper 4.2.3 update, I was deluged by support email and Twitter messages from customers saying that it crashed immediately on launch, even with a clean install. This didn’t make sense — obviously, Apple had reviewed it, and it worked for them. My submitted archive from Xcode worked perfectly. But every time I downloaded the update from the App Store, clean or not, it crashed instantly.”

The Instapaper update is now working, but Arment lists a number of apps (including Angry Birds Space Free, Cocktailpedia, and Pinball Maniacs) that have experienced the same problem over the past couple of days and wants to see Apple address the issue.  (Via TechCrunch).
