Gotta hand it to The Boy Genius Report. They not only have screenshots of the unannounced Google Android 2.0, they also have the unreleased Verizon Wireless Motorola Droid running Android 2.0 in their hands…
Android 2.0 screenshot walkthrough
Based on BGR’s screenshots, Android 2.0 reminds me a of cleaner more functional HTC TouchFlo 3D (which I turned off on my Windows Mobile Touch Pro2). I think I could get comfortable with Android 2.0′s user interface though.
The Motorola Droid looks a lot like the HTC Touch Pro2 with its large screen and lack of physical navigation controls (a big problem IMHO) and a pull-out QWERTY keyboard (yay!). The included charger/cradle’s “multimedia station” aspect sounds interesting (and useful too). Unlike the Moto Cliq, the navigation pad on the keyboard is on the right side.
I was all set to look for and buy a Motorola Cliq to use with T-Mobile. But, I may be tempted to get a Droid from Verizon Wireless now.
