Washingtonpost.com Gets Optimized for iPhone

wpadimg.jpgThe Washington Post has launched a version of its washingtonpost.com site optimized for the iPhone. Powered by Crisp Wireless, the site is the first to use Crisp’s new Send/Share social media capabilities.

Send/Share makes it easy for users to share washingtonpost.com news, articles and other content on micro-blogging and social networking Web sites. So, in addition to sharing the articles via Facebook or posting them on a profile page, visitors can also now digg articles, send them to friends using friendfeed or post them on del.icio.us.

“Reading and posting to blogs, interacting with friends and colleagues via Facebook, and bookmarking our favorite articles are habits that are starting to become as important to us as staying on top of our e-mail, if not more,” said Andy Sullivan, VP of client services at Crisp Wireless. “The creation of the Save/Share feature for washingtonpost.com was a natural progression of Crisp’s services.”

As with most other iPhone-optimized Web sites, the washingtonpost.com for iPhone boasts an easy-to-navigate design that lets users browse sections and read articles without having to zoom in and out of a page. It also has a new search function that lets users search content from the past 30 days.
