The Hush Project is a website dedicated to giving credit to those that deserve it. It allows users to nominate deserving individuals to be rewarded for their good deeds. So first off, let’s define what the Hush Project considers what they refer to as “unsung heroes”: more or less they are looking for individuals that have gone without recognition for doing things like dedicate their lives to taking care of the ill or those that help guide the youth. The Website then takes donations in the form of products or money from random benefactors. Those monthly donations are then given to the nominated “hero” of the month. The board of web trustrees ultimately chooses the hero of the month, but the website does allow the community to nominate the different candidates. THP also accepts donations via Paypal from anyone who believes in the cause.
This website is a great concept to honor deserving individuals and better yet, to offer it in a format that brings social awareness to the community. And as it is offered on a platform through the Internet, the community has no borders. The audience and participation has a much greater potential to draw in individuals from all backgrounds and walks of life, as well as a greater availability of donors.
