Celebrities who use photo-sharing service Twitpic to post photos on Twitter now have an agent, as entertainment news and photo group WENN announced a deal to represent those images.

Twitpic generated some 500 million page views and 50 million unique visitors per month, while WENN has been providing entertainment news and photo content for nearly 25 years.

Twitpic CEO Noah Everett said:

With WENN, we are excited to bring Twitpic content to an even wider worldwide audience.

WENN CEO Lloyd Beiny added:

In what was a hotly contested tender, we are extremely pleased to be selected as the exclusive photo agency partner of Twitpic. There has been much unauthorized use of Twitpic images, which we shall be addressing without delay. The belief by some that any photo posted on Twitter is available at no cost is completely wrong, but now, as result of this new arrangement, anyone wishing to publish celebrity photos posted on Twitter via Twitpic will be able to do so legitimately via WENN.
