Watch: Hidden Cameras Reveal What Girls Look At When They Meet a Guy

The latest viral campaign from Thinkmodo and Cosmo For Guys (CFG) is a social experiment, conducted to find out which part of a man’s body girls check out when they first meet him.  Is it the eyes, the biceps, the butt or the crotch?  You’ll have to watch the video to find out!

‘CFG – What Girls Look At’ is the second in a series of viral videos promoting the Cosmo For Guys iPhone app, an app that fills guys in on what women want, directly from the source.  The first video from the campaign, ‘iPad Head Girl’, gave guys the opportunity to look into a woman’s head—literally.  That video has racked up over 1 million views and put Cosmo on the Ad Age Viral Video Chart for the first time.  Will this latest video garner the same results?  Check it out below and decide for yourself, then read on to find out more about the campaign from Thinkmodo co-founder Michael Krivicka.

I asked Michael how they came up with the idea to strap cameras to a guy’s butt, crotch and biceps to see where a girl would look first.  He told me, “After ‘iPad Head Girl’, which was pretty innovative and had its own voice, we wanted to do something different to promote the second issue of CFG.  We wanted the theme to be more along the lines of what the magazine writes about.  So we came up with a concept to do a fun take on the polls that CFG features in every issue.

“We wanted it to be more of a personal experiment that had an interesting tech twist to it, as many of our videos do, but at the same time it had to be a conversation starter.  Some guys look at women’s breasts, some look at legs, some look at butts, but what do girls really look at?  We turned the table around and are now asking viewers the same question:  ‘What do YOU look at when you first meet a handsome guy?’”

I also just had to ask, for all the ladies out there, who is the oh-so-charming man in the video?  Michael told me, “His name is Anthony Marks.  A very talented and handsome guy who was a pleasure to work with.”  He told me, “One of the reasons we picked Anthony for this part was his athletic physique.  Based on a real poll by CFG, most women look at the guy’s face first.  Bicep was the #2 spot.  In our experiment, we couldn’t include the face as part of the poll because Anthony was communicating with all of the girls and they had to look at his face no matter what.”

Finally, I was curious about whether Thinkmodo and CFG were inspired by a couple of videos that went viral last February, one featuring a girl sporting a butt-cam and another featuring a guy sporting a “package”-cam.  Michael said, “Absolutely.  Those, and many more, inspired us to create this video.  We always do a ton of research before we lock down a concept.  We didn’t want to copy anything, of course, so we put our own spin on things.”
