Placing a metaphorical value on everything stored on your cell phone is pretty easy – either you’d be lost without it or it’s easily replaceable or somewhere in between. Putting a monetary value on it is another matter entirely. Sure, you know how much you spent on the games and ringtones, but how much are your pictures and text messages worth?
Some folks at UK mobile backup service Mobyko and University College of London apparently thought long and hard about that very subject and came up with something they call the Mobilator, Shiny Shiny reports.
An online tool, the Mobilator calculates the financial worth of all the pictures, music, videos, games, text messages and even contacts stored in your phone.
If you’re curious, you can calculate the value here. But if you live anywhere outside the UK, you’ll also need to use a currency converter since the Mobilator does its calculations in British pounds.
