The Wikimedia Foundation tweaked its board of directors prior to the fifth annual Wikimania Conference in Buenos Aires Aug. 26-28: adding Samuel Klein, director of content for the One Laptop per Child program; formally welcoming new member Arne Klempert, head of digital communications at German consulting firm IFOK and former executive director of Wikimedia Deutschland; and announcing that Kat Walsh and Ting Chen will return in their current seats.
In other Wikimedia Foundation news, philanthropic investment firm Omidyar Network announced a grant of up to $2 million over two years to the Wikipedia operator, adding that Omidyar Network partner Matt Halprin joined the foundation’s board of trustees.
