Wiktionary Launches on Android

Most dictionary apps are a dime a dozen, but the new Wiktionary app is something else. Wikimedia Foundation has just launched what I’m betting is the best free dictionary app for Android.

Wiktionary is an open source project with a goal similar to that of Wikipedia. It’s a a multilingual, web-based project to create a free content dictionary, Over 150 languages are now supported. Entries include information on the etymology, definition, and even pronunciation of words (including mp3 clips).

All this content, including the Wikisaurus and its collection of slang definitions, can be accessed via the new Android app. You can find the app in Google Play. You can save pages inside the app and share links to your favorite entries.
