WordPlay Shakespeare Series Lets You Read & Watch Classics Simultaneously

Screen Shot 2013-09-27 at 10.01.45 AMReading the text of a Shakespeare play has a lot of benefits, so does watching it being performed.

The WordPlay Shakespeare series lets you do both. The apps let you read a Shakespeare play while watching a performance of it. The text appears alongside a filmed performance of the play in the app. As the promo copy boasts, “half the page is a stage.”

The series from The New Book Press includes two $9.99 iPad apps so far — Wordplay Shakespeare: Macbeth which just came out and WordPlay Shakespeare: A Midsummer Night’s Dream which came out in April. “It’s the 17th Century meets the 21st,” stated Alexander Parker, the creator of the WordPlay series.
