WSJ: NY Times Paywall Coming In January

NYTimes.jpgWell, this is ironic. The Wall Street Journal is reporting that the New York Times will put up its paywall and start charging users for access starting in January. Check out the story here, assuming you can get behind the WSJ‘s paywall.

The news here isn’t that the Times is putting up a paywall, but rather that it is finally ready to set a timeframe for setting it live. Executive editor Bill Keller, when he first announced the plans, referred only to it happening sometime in 2011. Media critics pointed out that a paywall could be put up in a matter of weeks, with Keller responding that the Times wanted to “do it right.”

So now that there is a timeframe, what do you think? Will you pay for NY Times content online? And if so, how much?
