Yahoo said that its mobile search service will be offered by six more telecom companies in Asia, according to a Reuters report, adding that the company can now reach up to 600 million subscribers worldwide.
“This creates the scale to make mobile advertising attractive,” said David Ko, Asia managing director and vice president of Yahoo’s mobile division, at a briefing.
Yahoo’s mobile news comes just as Nielsen Mobile released a survey that showed Google has 61 percent of the mobile search market while Yahoo has 18 percent—numbers that are almost identical to current desktop stats.
