Voting is always important, and it is especially important in an election that is predicted to be as close as tomorrow’s Presidential election. In order to get the vote out and stress the importance of each and every individual showing up at the polls, the Obama campaign has launched a nifty little tool that shows you how many people with your first name have already voted.
Over 30.5 million Americans have already voted and you can find out how many of them share your name. I was surprised to find out that 27,880 Megans have already voted. That’s a whole lotta Megans!
Once you find out how many people with your name have already voted you’ll be invited to share the information with your friends, so they can find out how many people with their name have already voted, as well as confirm their polling place and hours.
Yohannes Abraham, Deputy National Political Director for Obama for America, explains the (somewhat obvious but still creative) message behind this campaign in the latest email sent out to the Obama for America mailing list. “Bottom line: We need every Megan [or your name] — and everyone else, too — to make it out to the polls.”
