Want to learn more about pre-production, production or post-production for YouTube? Starting this Wednesday, YouTube will be offering free weekly workshops on Google Plus Hangouts open to all YouTube Creators.
Workshops will take place every Wednesday, starting this Wednesday, at Noon PT / 3pm ET at the YouTube Creators Google Plus page. The first three weeks will focus on Pre-Production, followed by five weeks focused on Production and four weeks focused on Post-Production.
Austin Lau, of YouTube Partner Development, explains that you can drop in on any of the sessions you’d like – you don’t have to come back every single Wednesday. He writes, “If you already feel great about pre-production but want to learn more about production and post-production, for example, feel free to come to only those sessions that interest you.”
Pre-Production sessions will include a product overview, pre-visualization and storyboarding and choosing your equipment. Production sessions will include an introduction of cinematography, lighting, sound, and green screen techniques. Post-Production sessions will delve into basic editing techniques, color correction, sound mixing, developing your audience and using YouTube Analytics. Check out the full schedule on the YouTube Creators Blog.
Whether you are new to making online videos or just want to hone your video making or YouTube skills, I’d say this is a great opportunity to take advantage of. We’ll also be following the workshop series and providing overviews of some of the worthwhile details that are shared. If you are interested in learning more about pre-production, production or post-production for web video, I also suggest checking out the Vimeo Video School.
Do you think you’ll be attending any of the YouTube educational workshops?
