YouTube To Reward 16 How-To Gurus With Training, Equipment & Promotion

Do you make How-to videos on YouTube?  If so, you may be eligible for YouTube Next How-To Gurus, a program rewarding sixteen of the best How-To video creators in the United States, Canada, UK, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, India and South Africa, with cash, equipment and promotion on YouTube.

YouTube Creator Programs Manager, Austin Lau, writes on the YouTube Creator Blog, “We’re lauching YouTube Next How-to Guru and are on the hunt to find the coolest, cleverest, canniest and most creative makers out there.  Do you crochet with the crafters?  Do you give tips about your Toyota?  Do you offer pointers about pasta?  No matter your specialty, whether it’s scrapbooking or baseball or anything else, we’d love to hear from all the How-To Gurus out there – you know who you are!”  (On a side note, looks like Austin should make a How To video about alliteration!)

Eligible YouTubers can submit their channels to be considered for the program.  The top 16 channels will take advantage of a special, private Google+ workshop from YouTube staff and industry experts.  They’ll also receive $4,000 worth of production equipment and promotion on YouTube.  Find out more about the guidelines here to see if you qualify.

If you don’t make How To videos, it’s not too late to enter YouTube’s other NextUp competition, which they launched last week to foster collaboration.  Video creators in the United States can submit the names of creators they’d like to collaborate with for a chance to attend two one-week long Creator Camps at YouTube Space LA, along with equipment and funds to make their collaboration projects happen.

And now I’ll leave you with one of my favorite How To videos—How to do the No Bones Dance!
