YouTube Seeking Research Participants To Test New Features

If you have monetized any of the videos on your YouTube channel then you may qualify to take part in a study, testing out new product features on YouTube.

Kasia Kotecka, Research Participant Recruiter at YouTube, writes on the YouTube Creator Blog, “Google is constantly striving to improve our products, and a large part of this is gathering feedback from our users.  Currently we are looking for YouTube partners interested in participating in a remote usability testing.  The main goal of this study is to test new product features to better understand your needs.”

In order to qualify you must be a YouTube partner.  If you’ll remember, back in April YouTube opened up their partner program to everyone, which means that you are a partner if you monetize some of your videos on YouTube.  In addition to being a YouTube partner with some videos monetized, you must be at least 18 years of age to participate, accept the terms of Google’s Usability Non-Disclosure Agreement, have a Google+ account (your session will be streamed through a Hangout), and be willing to have your session video- or audio-recorded.

The studies are scheduled to take place on July 30 and 31 and last for one hour, so you should have a quiet place to work on your PC or laptop.  If you are selected to participate, you’ll receive a $50 Amazon voucher.

YouTube has rolled out a lot of new features and designs over the past six months or so with mixed feedback from users, so it should be interesting to be among the first to take a look at what they’ve got in store for the future.  Think you qualify?  Sign up here to participate.
