YouTube TLC “No Scrubs” Parody Discourages Vertical Video Mode

Do you shoot in vertical video mode? YouTube Chescaleigh is talking to you!

if your video is the dopest but it’s portrait
then it’s bogus
don’t want some hocus pocus up in adobe
to choke these bonus components
that shouldn’t show in your video
if you go with an aspect ratio that’s not the grossest
you need atonement, if you haven’t turned your phone yet

In all seriousness though, videos should almost always be shot in landscape mode so it fits smartphone screens, movie screens, and computer screens. Turning a vertical video sideways in post-production will give you less resolution. Can we get an engineer on this? I’m sure there’s a way to stop cameras from shooting videos in portrait mode.

Here’s another YouTube video about the Vertical Video Syndrom – PSA just in case Chescaleigh’s wasn’t convincing enough.
