According to Ziff Davis CEO Jason Young, reports of the demise of ExtremeTech were premature, despite a farewell column that appears on the site’s home page.

Young told minonline “there are no plans to shutter or discontinue it,” adding, “what is happening is that we are closely integrating operation back here in New York with the core PCMag content team, many of whom have been involved as contributors.”

Young added that the change is part of a redesign of the PCMag Digital Network, which also includes Gearlog, AppScout and the PCMagCast Webcasts).

ExtremeTech’s San Francisco-based staff—writers Lloyd Case, Jason Cross and Joel Durham; producers Jeremy Atkinson and Mike Nguyen; and forum moderator Jim Lynch—are leaving the company, however.
