In this video, Mateusz Bryning, CTO of electronic ink company Zikon, talks about their approach to making electronic ink using nanotechnology.

Zikon’s website explains that it uses, “REED (Reverse Emulsion Electrophoretic Display) technology to create low-cost nanotechnology-based electronic Ink for flat panel displays.” Amazon is currently using E Ink to power their Kindle displays, but Zikon could be cheaper because it doesn’t require encapsulation.

If the electronic ink thing doesn’t work out, Zikon is also working on a nail polish that changes color.
